Fruit Flies (Drosophila spp.)
Fruit flies are tiny flies that breed in fermenting or rotting fruit and vegetables, overripe produce, and moist organic residue in drains and recycling bins, making kitchens and bars common infestation sites. Their remarkably fast reproduction — females can lay hundreds of eggs in just a few days — means small problems become large ones quickly. While they are primarily a nuisance, they can contaminate food with bacteria and yeast. Eliminating all fermenting breeding sources, combined with drain treatments and traps, resolves most infestations rapidly.
