Crickets (Gryllidae)
Crickets are well-known for the incessant chirping of males, which becomes particularly disruptive when they find their way indoors in large numbers during late summer and fall. They feed on fabric, paper, and food items and can cause minor damage to clothing and furnishings. House crickets and field crickets are the species most commonly encountered inside homes and commercial buildings. Exterior perimeter treatments, reducing exterior lighting that attracts them, and sealing foundation gaps effectively reduces indoor cricket pressure.
