Jumping Spiders (Salticidae)
Jumping spiders are small, curious spiders with excellent vision and the ability to leap many times their body length to catch prey. They are active hunters that do not build webs to catch prey, instead stalking and pouncing on insects, making them beneficial predators in and around the home. Their large front eyes give them a distinctive, inquisitive appearance. While completely harmless, those who are arachnophobic may find them unsettling indoors; perimeter treatments and exclusion measures reduce the likelihood of indoor encounters.
