Leaf Rollers (Tortricidae)
Leaf rollers are the caterpillars of tortrix moths that fold or roll leaves together with silk, feeding inside the protective structure they create on a wide range of ornamental and fruit trees. Their feeding causes distorted, rolled foliage and can damage buds and developing fruit. While a single generation rarely causes lasting harm to established trees, repeated infestations weaken plants and can affect fruit quality in orchards. Insecticide applications targeting young larvae before they roll leaves, combined with pheromone monitoring, provide effective management.
