Red Flour Beetles (Tribolium castaneum)
Red flour beetles are one of the most common pests of stored milled grain products, infesting flour, cereals, cake mixes, and other processed grain goods in homes and commercial facilities. Their presence produces a foul, pungent odor and off-flavors in infested products and can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. They are strong fliers and can spread rapidly between infested products. Discarding all infested material, deep cleaning storage areas, and applying targeted residual treatments eliminates active infestations.
