Spider Mites (Tetranychus urticae & Oligonychus ununguis)
Twospotted spider mites and spruce spider mites are among the most economically important plant pests, feeding on the undersides of leaves and stippling, yellowing, and bronzing foliage of a vast range of ornamental, vegetable, and fruit plants. In hot, dry conditions, populations explode rapidly and can cause significant plant damage in a matter of days. Fine webbing on plants is a telltale sign of heavy infestation. Miticide applications, horticultural oils, and maintaining well-irrigated plants help keep spider mite populations below damaging levels.
