Clothes Moths (Tineola bisselliella & Tinea pellionella)
Clothes moths are small, golden-tan moths whose larvae feed on keratin-based natural fibers including wool, cashmere, silk, and feathers, causing irregular holes in clothing, carpets, and stored textiles. Adults avoid light and infestations often go undetected until significant damage has occurred. Dark, undisturbed storage areas such as closets and under furniture are prime breeding sites. Regular cleaning of natural fiber items, proper storage in sealed containers, and targeted insecticide or heat treatments eliminate infestations.
