Striped Beetles (Various species)
Striped beetles is a common name applied to several beetle species with distinctive striped markings, including striped cucumber beetles and striped flea beetles, that attack vegetable crops and ornamental plants. Cucumber beetles are particularly damaging as both adults and larvae feed on cucurbit crops and transmit bacterial wilt disease. Row covers over young transplants and targeted insecticide applications at planting time protect susceptible crops. Rotating crops and removing plant debris at season's end reduces overwintering populations.
